$200k Ring Earner

"I want to start by “thanking” everyone at the Home Office, as you make my life in the field so much easier. Our product is best in class, and so are all the employees at the Home Office. I started my PPLSI journey eight years ago, hoping to add to my income. I was semi-retired for a few years when life threw a curveball at me. I had just gone through some personal issues, was struggling financially and trying to find my place. As an insurance agent, I decided to sit for my 220 licenses, thinking that selling auto and homeowners insurance would be a way to replace my lost income. After two months, I knew that was not going to work. So I utilized my training and skills to market health insurance to small business owners. Building a healthcare business from zero was challenging. I was new, trying to kick off a new career, when carriers cut commissions drastically. During these years, my confidence grew in our company’s leadership — my belief in what we do for our fellow citizens aligned with my core values. I soon discovered my niche was in Business Solutions. I also had an epiphany — rather than starting a healthcare book of business, why not partner with established benefits brokers and add our products to their voluntary benefits. As they say, the rest is history. With the Business Solutions team’s help — from people like Ted Vitalo, Emily Rose, all the National Sales Managers, Brandon Clark and Linda Brown — I’m now fortunate enough to have a steady residual income, and my business has been elevated to be one of the Top 10 producers in Business Solutions.
My hope is that by the time this edition of the Profiles of Success is published, to have earned my $200,000 Ring. Like other Ring Earners, we could fill this section with people we owe a great deal of gratitude to. I am incredibly grateful to Don Thompson, who inspired me to join PPLSI so many years ago and still inspires me today. Lastly, I leave you with these words by William James, “Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does.”
